I was not sure when I order the Scottsdale 60 Console and 2 matching bookcases if I was going to be perfectly satisfied or not. Call me picky. For one thing, not seeing the furniture in person was scary. My wife and I had looked at a lot of pieces locally but were only able to find one suitable console which cost a couple of hundred more than this Legends 60" Scottsdale Deluxe console through ATG.

What do we like? First of all, the pictures on Web site do not look as appealing as the actual product. The finish is not as glaring. In other words, it looks like real oak. The color of my pieces seems a little darker than what is pictured. That is good, although I would have liked to have had an even slightly darker stain. The hardware is definitely darker: more of a dark brass than gold tone picture. Before ordering, I had planned to change the hardware but now I won’t have too.

Other things I like are the solidness of the pieces. Even the backer board is made of a firm pressed wood and not paper. All the doors have a tight fit with smooth hinges. I was not sure if we would like the glass console window at the top but it’s great to see through to our main TV / DVR / Sound controls. Yes, the remotes work with the glass door closed. Of course, a very important selling point was this is made in the USA. Yea!! The two 48 x 32 Scottsdale rustique bookcases look real good on either side of our family room fireplace. I just wish they had a matching coffee table.

We did have one problem. One of the bookcases was damaged in shipment. I could see the packaging box was damaged before even opening. However, I inspected all the pieces before I let the deliverer go; just like ATG says to do. We refused delivery on the one bookshelf. I got on the phone with ATG while the deliverer was still here. It was like clockwork. No problem. The deliverer took the piece back and got a new, perfect one, three weeks later. The new deliverymen (different co.) were surprised I got my replacement so fast. Thanks ATG and Legends.
